In 1997 Allegiance Healthcare Canada, Inc and MDS Ingram and Bell Inc. combined their Canadian healthcare products and distribution businesses to form Source Medical. The new company, created to address the changing needs of the healthcare profession, now serves hospitals, laboratories and other healthcare facilities across Canada.

Source Medical was designed to provide customers with the innovative products and distribution services they need to deliver better care to more people. Source Medical set benchmarks for introducing and providing medical products and services to healthcare providers and laboratories – efficiently and effectively.

By improving the way we manage and integrate products through our supply chain and working with a full range of leading healthcare product manufacturers, Source Medical effectively helps clients manage their costs and deliver better care.

In November of 2005, Cardinal Health acquired MDS’s interest, and Source Medical is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Cardinal Health U.S., operating as an independent entity in the Canadian marketplace.
